Warning to Fellow Bloggers

But today, totally by accident, I ran across another web page (from Indonesia, no less!!) that had a TON of my recipes and photos posted as if they were this persons own work; not a single mention or link back to my recipe page at all!! So I started looking around the Internet, and I was shocked to see how "common" this practice is.
So far, it seems that all of my photos that were swiped, were ones I posted before 2011. Im guessing that must be, because in 2011, I started putting my name on my recipe photos; evidently, people dont like to steal photos that are labeled (I wish I had known that!!)
The funny thing is, is that Im a terrible photographer!! Why are they stealing MY photos when there are so many great ones out there? Maybe mine are the ONLY ONES not labeled(?)
Lesson for the day:
I am slowly going back through and labeling my old recipe photos, but it is a pain to do.
Thanks for listening to my rant.

Inside Out Grilled Cheese Sandwich – Warning This Video May Give You the Munchies
You know how once in a while you run across a slice of pizza where some of the cheese has dripped over the edge and caramelized onto the bottom of the crust? You know how when you bite into that delicious deformity you think to yourself, "why cant the whole thing be like this?" It can.
Make sure you follow some basic rules for this to work properly. Only use airy, nutritionally insignificant white bread. Use a nice sharp cheddar, and be sure to use a quality non-stick pan over medium to medium-low heat.
Well, its almost 4:20, and I have to run to an appointment, but I really hope you give…. shoot, I just lost my train of thought. Dude, where are my keys? Anyway, enjoy!

Chocolate Soufflés with Nougat Whip Warning Intended for Mature Audiences

My friend, Linda from Salty Seattle, called this Chocolate Soufflés with Nougat Whip video, “porn without people,” and I couldn’t agree more. The term “food porn” gets thrown around way too easily these days. Sorry, that picture of your red velvet cupcakes was nice, but it wasn’t really pornographic. This, however, could make you blush. By the way, the surface temperature of a blushing face is the exact temperature at which chocolate melts. Coincidence?
This semi-sweet tour-de-force is from Debra and Rod “The Professor” Smith, from SmithBites.com. I’m relatively new to their work, but quite impressed to say the least. I’m very proud Food Wishes helped pioneer the chef-less recipe video, but this is taking that idea to a whole other place – surreal and viscerally sensual, yet still comforting and familiar. Please follow this link to check out the original post, and see more of their fine work. Enjoy!

A Classic American Apple Pie – Warning This Video Recipe is Almost All Filler
Besides, if youre not an experienced pie baker (and lets face it, youre not), theres nothing wrong with a little ready-to-use dough, as long as its filled with this fantastic apple pie filling.
What will strike you about this filling is just how few ingredients go in it. Sliced apples baked with sugar taste really, really good, and we dont want to mess with that too much. For me, a little pinch of nutmeg and some cinnamon is all this timeless combination needs.
You can see the apple blend I used in the ingredient list below, but there are an endless number of combinations (not literally! I know how you math people are – you were so going to send me an email, werent you?)
Anyway, I hope you give this delicious apple pie filling a try, and if you were going to shock the world and bake a homemade pie for dessert for one of the upcoming holiday meals, this would be a great choice. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
6-8 baking apples (depending on size) I used 2 Granny Smith, 2 Braeburn, 2 Fuji
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 cup white sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
very tiny pinch of salt
2 tbsp butter
1 egg, beaten
ready to use pie dough (I used Pillsbury)
